Avid|DS, is one of the world’s most advanced nonlinear editing systems available in today’s market. The advanced architecture utilizes multiple streams of uncompressed 601 component digital video, seamlessly integrating picture and audio editing, compositing, paint, image treatment, special effects, true 3D text animation and project management into one environment.

The DS, supported by Softimage, Ultimatte, Saphire and Tinder EFX plug-ins, offers incredible visual tools for producing the complex effects demanded in today’s competitive market.

New Century’s Avid|DS system features an RP (remote processor) so we can render while working, allowing us to work uninterupted by heavy rendering. Our system uses Digital Betacam, BetacamSp, DVCPro-50, DvCam, and other video formats and is capable of HD_Offline at 24 or 30 fps. We have an Avid Media Composer for Off-line work in house or available to set up at your location

Recent Projects

Over the last several years we have worked with Panoltia and SilverLight Productions to produce and edit several bi-cultural training videos on the Hispanic market for BB&T Bank. Numerous corporate projects for GSK, Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC, the Redwoods Group and Koroberi. Several Broadcast Documentaries have utilized our Avid|DS for color correction services. From August 2002 through October 2003, Jim Fink worked at Music City Digital in Nashville as one of two DS Artists on CMT’s “The Morning After: Top 40 Drinking Songs in Country Music,” and on two 3 hour CMT Specials: “Top 40 Women in Country Music” and “Top 40 Men”

Other projects include:

• On-line edit and visual effects for Telly award winning Powerware’s “Powerful Moments with Professor Watts” external communications program produced by Nu-Art Productions.
• Numerous show opens and other high-end internal communication pieces for Glaxo Smith-Kline, including a Widescreen 16x9 Logo Launch Open to kick off the GSK merger in 2001.
• Regional 2D animation TV Commercial for Breugers Bagels.
• National Television Commercial with green screen tracking and composited shots for Adam & Eve.
• On-line edit, graphics and color correction for the national PBS broadcast of "Ellis Marsallis: Jazz is Spoken Here.
• Compositing and video edit for a multi-layered 5 CD-ROM project for Nortel Networks, produced by Silverlight Productions. Deliverables included A three minute show open to launch the NHL All Star celebration for Nortel Hi-Speed Access Products, featuring 3D graphics, motion blur visual effects and a stunning 3D Animation of a slap shot hockey puck caught on the fly by Nortel Access Networks President; Steve Schilling.
• Visual Efx for Plan 9 from Glaxoid, a Spoof Sci-Fi Corporate Video produced for GSK by Nu-Art Productions.
• On-line edit, graphics and mix of 30 Minute broadcast documentary: Voter Passion/Voter Apathy produced by the NC Governor's Race 2000 Project sponsored by the North Carolina Center for Voter Education.
